Mandi in China

Well, the pre-China episodes

Don’t know if I’ll make it… January 21, 2008

Oh my GOSH! I can’t sleep I am so excited about this trip! Ugh! Its like I wish it were here already but at the same time I’m also getting kind of anxious because I am not going to have enough time to see everyone I want to hang out with before I leave. But I mean, I’m not moving over there for years. I’ll be back in 6 months, so it will be ok.

I have no idea how much time I’ll have when I am there studying though, because I anticipate it being pretty hard-core. This is a Chinese University we’re talking about here. But I’m sure I’ll be blogging when I miss you guys… although facebook would probably be a more useful tool for that.

Anyway, I just had to get some of that excitement out for a second… and… (dun duh dunnn)… start the countdown : 27 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And anyone who wants to accompany me and my family to the airport at 4 in the morning when I leave, just let me know! You are more than welcome!

This is how I plan on keeping everyone updated on what’s goin down in China, rather than sending out massive annoying emails.  But I ALSO want this to be a voice for the things that I’m passionate about and want others to be aware of. Things like social injustices in the world, international (and national) issues that should be made known and talked about, ways to take action and do something about these problems, etc. I hope that we as a nation, and the western world can wake up to the fact that we are not the only ones on the planet and that there are hurting people out there in which we HAVE the resources to bring hope to their situations and lives. Everyone can play a part though. You don’t have to have a ton of money and be a Bill Gates, you just have to be PASSIONATE about people and justice, and WILLING to do something.

There is more to come…
